'Harlow Town'
Following my brief of origins I have looked into the history and foundations of Harlow. I spent time looking into the plans for the town and the original ideas on the intended function of different parts of the town. I decided to choose Harlow as my focus as I think it has an interesting history as one of the first New Towns built following the second world war with a main intention of creating a strong community and industry. My final outcome is of a Barbara Hepworth sculpture called “Contrapuntal Forms”, located in the Glebelands housing area and the sculpture was placed there in 1952 while the estate was still being built. I chose this location for my final image as sculpture is in the heart of the town and based in the foundations which everyone here lives on.
